September always feels like a reset button — fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, and the perfect time to simplify your marketing. The secret? Tiny, repeatable habits. You don’t need to overhaul your entire content strategy overnight; you just need a few realistic, doable routines that fit into your actual life.

The magic is here: small + repeatable + realistic = habit sticks.

Below you’ll find 20 simple daily and weekly marketing habits, ranked by their Visibility Boost ⭐ so you can see which ones will give you the most bang for your effort. Pick a couple that feel doable, and start there.

Daily Habits (tiny actions you can easily repeat)

1. Comment Snack 💡 Take 15 minutes on the couch to write 5 thoughtful comments on other people’s posts. Look for topics within your zone of genius, passion, or expertise. 🎯 SMART Goal: 15 min, 5 comments, daily. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2. Morning Scroll Upgrade 💡 Replace doomscrolling with creating 1 intentional share or story. 🎯 SMART Goal: Share 1 post/story between 8–9 AM daily. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

3. Screenshot Inspiration 💡 Save posts you like into a “Content Inspiration” album or folder. 🎯 SMART Goal: Save 1 idea per day. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐

4. Quote of the Day 💡 When you read/listen/watch something inspiring, jot down 1 quote. (I know I watch, read, or listen to at least one thing every day.) 🎯 SMART Goal: Collect 7 quotes per week. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐

5. One-Photo Habit 💡 Snap 1 behind-the-scenes photo (desk, coffee, walk, project). 🎯 SMART Goal: 7 new photos weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

6. Voice Memo Magic 💡 Record a quick 30-second idea when inspiration hits. This is great if you prefer audio format over writing. 🎯 SMART Goal: 3 voice notes per week. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐

7. Gratitude Post-it 💡 Write down 1 client win, aha moment, or a lesson learned daily. 🎯 SMART Goal: Capture 5 notes weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

8. Hashtag Hunt 💡 Use one coffee break per day to check trending hashtags. TIP: Create a hashtag bank so you can grab and go for future posts. 🎯 SMART Goal: Save 3 new hashtags per day. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐

9. CTA Check 💡 At the end of the day, review if your post had a clear call-to-action. Hint: Start noticing other people’s CTAs, especially when they work on you! Add winning CTA ideas into your Screenshot Inspiration folder from #3 above. 🎯 SMART Goal: Improve CTA use by 10% each week. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

10. One Line a Day 💡 Write 1 sentence that could be a hook/headline. 🎯 SMART Goal: End the week with 7 openers ready to expand. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

Weekly Habits (anchor them to specific days)

11. Sunday Brain Dump 💡 Spend 20 minutes dumping content ideas into your Content Cauldron/Google Doc. 🎯 SMART Goal: Add 10 ideas weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

12. Monday Meme 💡 Share or save 1 funny niche meme. (Personally, I’m not a meme person. In fact, I had to get my kid to explain to me what a meme was. I’m still not exactly sure. But maybe memes are Your Thing?!) 🎯 SMART Goal: Post 1 meme weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

13. Tuesday Tip 💡 Write 1 quick tip for your audience. Tip: Create your own branded hashtag for this type of post so you can sort and filter later. 🎯 SMART Goal: Post 1 actionable tip weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

14. Wednesday Walk & Talk 💡 Record a casual “walk with me” video. (Definitely do not record a “driving in my car right after a beer” which my 8-year-old sings on repeat and it was adorable until I heard all the lyrics. Thank you Roblox!) 🎯 SMART Goal: Post 1 video weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

15. Thursday Throwback 💡 Reshare an old blog, story, or lesson learned. If you’re over 50 like me, you may have trouble remembering what you ate for breakfast, let alone what you posted last month. Going through your old content helps you keep focused, gives you content to repurpose, and allows you to make updates or correct information. 🎯 SMART Goal: 1 repurposed throwback weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

16. Friday Celebrate 💡 Highlight a client win, milestone, or personal victory. This is a great way to close out the work week on a high. 🎯 SMART Goal: Share 1 celebration weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

17. Saturday Save 💡 Organize your weekly assets (photos, notes, posts) into your content folder. For example, have a Content Marketing folder with subfolders for each month. 🎯 SMART Goal: Add 5 assets weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐

18. Profile Peek 💡 Pick one network and make sure your profile is current. This past week, I picked my Google Business Listing and updated everything. 🎯 SMART Goal: Audit 1 profile weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

19. Engagement Hour 💡 Block 30 minutes to engage with others (comment, DM, cheerlead). 🎯 SMART Goal: 30 minutes every Thursday at 11 AM. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

20. Content Buddy Check-in 💡 Pair with a biz friend: swap your posts for accountability. 🎯 SMART Goal: 1 check-in message weekly. ✨ Visibility Boost: ⭐⭐⭐

Allison's Closing Thoughts

Content marketing doesn’t need to be complicated or time-consuming — it just needs consistency. Whether it’s jotting down one idea a day, snapping a quick photo, or spending 15 minutes engaging with others, these small actions add up to a powerful online presence over time.

I recommend picking only a couple of items from this list to start. Keep them simple and let the momentum carry you forward. Before you know it, marketing will feel less like “extra work” and more like second nature.

I feel really good about myself when I swap time and energy where I would have been passively watching a show, for sitting on the couch commenting or messaging people. I’m still able to put my feet up and get some rest. Seeing what my contacts are posting, supporting them, and interacting is fun. So it’s just about me making the time, prioritizing it, and turning the whole thing into a habit.
